Why to visit Gadhimai temple?

Gadhimai temple is famous for sacrifice of animals and birds. The animals are killed during the gadhimai's fest. No any animals are killed on the other regular days. On the other days, people worship her by offering her sweets and flower but during the fest animals are also sacrifices. There is concept that when people sacrifice animals during fest, happiness and peace will be in their family and society. People sacrifice animals to her in the behalf of their wishes which they get fulfilled by the goddess Gadhimai. When any problems arises in their life, they pray to gadhimai for recovery and said to her that if that problem will solved then they will offer the blood of animals or sacrifice one animal during the fest. Due to this reason people sacrifice animals and millions of animals were killed after every five year in gadhimai festival. Some people also sacrifice animals being happy with goddess gadhimai and also being rich.

But actually goddess Gadhimai doesn’t tell anyone to give blood of any animals. She only needs five animal’s sacrifice i.e. one buffalo, one cock, one wild boar, one rat, one he goat. If she will get these five then she will be happy and doesn’t demand anymore. But people offer her life of more than millions of animals and birds.

During the festival there is separate place for buffalos and goat killing. Buffalo killing place lies in east of the temple and goat killing is anywhere around the temple away from the mass of people. In the west-north direction of temple, there is one river named PASAHA RIVER which is called border of gadhimai temple. And people usually crosses that river and cut the goats as sacrifice to gadhimai. Mostly goats are cuts at the bank of that pasaha river.

Gadhimai fair is the largest fair of Nepal holds after every five years. People visit from every part of Nepal to there. Many business organization, NGO, INGEO, entertainment group etc visit there to celebrate fest and help people as large mass of people comes there and provides different facilities in the fair.

Nepal largest worship and pray is done during the fest. The fest is for only ten days but people celebrate it for nearly 45 days as people from every part of the world visit during the fest. We can see more mass during the ten days of worship of goddess Gadhimai. People enjoys a lots during the fest. We can also see everything live in different news channels, FM, radio, newspaper.

we know people suffers from many problems and sorrows in their life like different diseases, mental problems, business problems, personal problems etc.. During the Gadhimai’s fest, people also visited there by taking such problems with them and share with goddess Gadhimai. It is believed that during the gadhimai fest if we share or convey our problems to goddess Gadhimai, she will solve it as she love everybody so much as her child and can’t able to see anybody in any problems.

So people visits during the fest to meet her in the temple and prays to her.

At the temple, we can see long line of people for meeting her. Many people also die due to the big mass around the temple. People stands for whole night and days to see her during the fest without eating anything. People stay near about 200-300 meter long lone to see goddess gadhimai.

Gadhimai festival or mela is also called largest pilgrims festival of Nepal. More than millions of pilgrims comes there to meet goddess Gadhimai after each five years during the gadhimai festival. Pilgrims from different part of country and around the world comes there to worship and meet goddess Gadhimai.

People from other part of world also arrive there. Mostly Indian pilgrims comes there for worship and prays. Peoples believe on goddess Gadhimai very much because she is known as very much powerful goddess of Hinduism as she is the incarnation the goddess KALI OF Hindu religion.
